This project is an exploration into the art of designing and constructing cultural costumes. Its purpose is twofold: First, it aims to supply a resource to technicians and designers who wish to create costumes that respect their cultural origins and meanings. Then, by utilizing peer reviewed, academic research to relate the stories of each piece in the database, we hope our work will be an aid in leading industry professionals and audiences alike to more accurate, meaningful, and expanded appreciations for cultures not their own.
